Spain and the acritic europeism: 25 years of spanish integration in the EU

La integración de España en la UE ha supuesto el factor de modernización más decisivo para nuestro país del último siglo. Pero esta manera pragmática y emocional de ver el proceso de integración europea ha consolidado un “europeísmo acrítico”, con un consenso básico sobre lo positivo de la integración pero sin propuestas desde donde analizar la relación España-Europa en el contexto más amplio actual de la globalización.  Es necesario superar el europeísmo acrítico, introduciendo una estrategia europea coherente con nuevas claves y posiciones consensuadas, en aquellas cuestiones que vayan a determinar el futuro de la UE en el s.XXI

The integration of Spain in the UE has supposed the more decisive factor of modernization for our country of the last century. Nevertheless, this pragmatic and emotional way to see the process of European integration has consolidated an “acrític europeism”, with a basic consensus on the positive of integration but without proposals from where to analyze the Spain-Europe relation in the present amplest context of the globalization. It is necessary to overpass this approach, introducing a coherent european strategy for Spain with new positions, in those questions that are going to determine the future of the EU in the XXI century.
