IDENTIDAD NACIONAL, BIPARTIDISMO Y VIOLENCIA EN COLOMBIA: LOS DESAFÍOS DE LA MULTICULTURALIDAD CONSA-GRADA POR LA CONSTITUCIÓN DE 1991

Resumen

El presente artículo presenta los desafíos que las transformaciones sociales, políticas y culturales de las recientes décadas, consagradas institucionalmente por la Constitución de 1991, han representado para la identidad colombiana, caracterizada por la adhesión a los partidos tradicionales y el monopolio del campo religioso por la Iglesia católica. Para ello, el autor contrasta el pluralismo religioso, cultural, étnico y político consagrado en el texto de 1991 con una mirada histórica sobre la configuración de los partidos conservador y liberal, el régimen de cristiandad republicana antes vigente y la matriz racista de las elites para hacer evidente la gradual erosión del monopolio político del bipartidismo y de la hegemonía católica sobre el campo religioso

The present article shows the challenges produced by the social, political and cultural transformations in the recent times in Colombia to the national identity based on the allegiance to the traditional parties and the Catholic Church and the way how the 1991 Constitution has consecrated the religious, cultural, ethnic and political pluralism in sharp contrast with the previous history of the country, characterized by monopoly of political life in the hands of the Liberal and Conservative parties, as well as the religious monopoly in the hands of the Catholic Church and the racist background of the Colombian elites.
